Program Overview

Program Completion & Impact

Distribution Achievement

Our Winter Protection Program successfully reached vulnerable communities across three districts, providing essential warmth to those who needed it most.

Final Impact:

  • 2,500 warm caps distributed
  • 40-50 communities (bastis) reached
  • Three districts covered: Gorkha, Dhading, and Chitwan

Geographic Coverage

Gorkha District Remote mountainous communities where winter temperatures regularly fall below freezing. Families in higher elevations received priority distribution.

Dhading District Hill communities with limited access to markets and winter supplies. Distribution focused on elderly residents and young children.

Chitwan District Vulnerable populations in rural settlements who face economic barriers to purchasing winter essentials.

Program Outcomes

Through direct engagement with local leaders and community health workers, we ensured caps reached those most at risk of cold-related illness. Each distribution event included brief educational sessions on:

  • Proper use of winter protection gear
  • Signs of hypothermia and frostbite
  • Winter health safety practices

Community Feedback

Recipients expressed gratitude for the practical support, with many noting this was their first access to proper winter headwear. Community leaders reported visible improvements in daily comfort and health outcomes during the harsh winter months.

Acknowledgments

This program's success was made possible through:

  • Local community leaders who identified vulnerable households
  • Volunteers who facilitated distribution events
  • Donors who made this initiative financially possible
  • Government and partner organizations who supported logistics
